Dr. Norman Wetterau, family physician and president of the Free Methodist Health Care Fellowship, will present an update from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the medical services offered through FMC-USA support. The DR Congo is the second poorest country in the world for per capita income and has been experiencing a low-grade civil war for many years. Community of the Savior's support is directed to the Deaconess Hospital in Nundu, DR Congo, a 100 bed hospital with 20 outlying clinics serving over 100,000 people. Dr. Wetterau will share a brief history of how medical missions developed in that place, the difficulties DR Congo is facing today, and the wonderful ways God is at work even in the midst of the challenges.
